Garlic dip is a smooth, creamy spread made from fresh garlic, lemon juice, and oil, creating a bold and flavorful addition to your meals. It has a rich, velvety texture that complements a variety of dishes, from warm pita bread to grilled meats and salads. The combination of garlic's natural pungency and the brightness of lemon makes it a perfect condiment to elevate any savory dish. This easy-to-make dip is versatile and can be stored for up to two weeks in the fridge, making it a convenient go-to for your meals.
Ingredients
8 ounces garlic cloves
canola oil
juice of 2 lemons
sea salt (to taste)
2 tablespoons plain yogurt (optional)
Instructions
Preparing the Garlic
Start by peeling fresh garlic and placing it in a large mason jar. You’ll need enough garlic to create a flavorful base for your dip.
Blending the Ingredients
To a mason jar, add canola oil (or any other neutral oil). Add enough oil to completely cover the garlic. Using a neutral oil is important because it maintains the natural garlic flavor and prevents any unwanted color changes. Next, add fresh lemon juice and sea salt to taste.
Using an immersion blender, blend the mixture in an up-and-down motion until the garlic transforms into a smooth, white, creamy consistency. If you prefer a milder garlic taste, you can blend in 1–2 tablespoons of plain yogurt at this stage. It softens the sharpness of the garlic while keeping the dip creamy. The dip is ready when it reaches this smooth, fluffy texture.
Storing and Serving

Once prepared, keep the garlic dip to an airtight container. It will keep for about two weeks in the refrigerator. Serve this creamy garlic dip with fresh pita bread for a tasty, savory treat. It also pairs wonderfully with shawarma, meats, salads, rice, or any other dishes that could use a burst of garlicky flavor!
